Coming from Central America, Nicaragua is the result of a century of Pellas family’s craftsmanship, now in its fifth generation that has been primarily focused on the art of aging. Produced from molasses, which have been made from sugarcane native of Nicaragua, it is distilled five times in the most modern pot stills at the San Antonio Sugar Mill in Chichigalpa. This “Centenario” has been stored for 12 years in American white oak barrels; in this period of time the finest qualities that characterize it arise: balance, texture and depth. As the distillery’s name already suggests, the sweetness is very present in the notes of this rum: a real “flower of sugar cane”, to be savored slowly in all its shades, possibly accompanied with a good cigar.
