Roero, called \"Roé\" in the Piedmontese dialect, is a territory in the province of Cuneo located just north of the Langhe area, separated from it by the Tanaro river. Here, in the municipality of Priocca, the Cordero family started their viticultural activity in 2016, focusing on traditional grape varieties, including Nebbiolo, a noble black grape variety that has made history in Piedmontese winemaking. Gabriele Cordero's Roero Rosso is made with only Nebbiolo grapes grown in the municipality of Priocca on sandy soils using sustainable viticulture. Harvest takes place when the grapes have reached the ideal degree of technological and phenolic ripeness, and the grapes are then transferred to the cellar for alcoholic fermentation. After the fermentation process, which takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature contact with the skins, the mass is subjected to racking and then transferred to \u003cstrong\u003esecond-passage French oak barriques\u003c\/strong\u003e for an 18-month aging phase.
